Most of the 110 families which comprise our membership come from all over East Hampshire and adjacent counties, but we do have one or two others scattered elsewhere in the country who have joined us because they share our concerns and like to read the newsletter. Many members have only a modest-sized garden or allotment, so don't be discouraged from joining us just because you don't own land or livestock; in fact, you can probably gain the most benefit from the group, and at the same time give other members another outlet for their surplus! You don't need to be a member of the HDRA to join our local group, although we recommend that you do - the membership benefits are considerable.
Membership of our group costs £12 per year (Jan2009) and this covers the entire family. Considering all the services offered - a regular monthly newsletter packed with advice and information, discounts on everything for your garden at Springfields Nursery, 30% off HDRA seeds and temptingly discounted wholefoods, it's excellent value, and it's only kept that low thanks to our small army of willing volunteers in the committee who work so hard for the group at no cost to our funds. Membership fees are renewable on 1st January each year. *For those joining after 1st July each year, you may pay £18 and this covers you right through to the end of the following year.
So, send your cheque for the required amount made out to "EHSS Group" to Mrs Anne Brockhurst, 73 Vann Road, Fernhurst, Haslemere, Surrey GU27 3NP. Include a note describing your interests, as we publish to members an annual membership list including such details to help you get to know others with similar interests.
